Program

Bay Area Minority Law Scholarship

Organization

The Bar Association of San Francisco

Opportunity Type

Scholarship

About the Program

We have been awarding scholarships to minority law students for seventeen years. We offer these scholarships because we are firmly committed to and recognize the importance of diversity within the legal practice, particularly in Northern California. The scholarships are need based and are given to those from minorities that are underrepresented in Northern California or Bay Area law schools. In addition to money, we provide mentoring and guidance to selected applicants. We believe that by offering scholarships to minority students who have been accepted into an accredited law school in Northern California, we are helping to ease a large barrier to success in law school — the financial barrier
