About the Program |
Gamma Phi Omega International Sorority Inc., is a Latina oriented organization foundedin 1991 at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. In 1993 Gamma Phi Omega expanded to,the University of Illinois at Chicago, since our establishment, we have committed ourselves toempower and support women through their academic endeavors and life-long dreams. We are passionate about our number one founding goal, academic excellence, and we believe in thepower of scholarship and mentorship. This organization was created to unite all Latinas who areon the same journey towards higher education and provide them with the resources and supportnecessary to succeed. It has been our dream to create a scholarship for a deserving student infinancial need. It is with great honor that we present our dream come true -The SwanScholarship. The Swan Scholarship is a $1,000, one time use award, given to a Latina studentattending UIC. It is designed to cover tuition and fees. All female students are welcomed toapply regardless of residential status. This is a two part scholarship, evenly distributed betweenthe Fall and Spring semesters |
