SIFMA Summer Internship 2015

Organization

SIFMA

Opportunity Type

Internship

About the Program

SIFMA is a trusted, go-to resource for information about the financial industry and the ongoing regulatory reform debate. An internship at SIFMA gives candidates hands-on experience working on substantive and challenging projects, while collaborating with experts in the financial services industry and public policy arena.

Interns will work within SIFMA’s Public Policy & Advocacy Group (PP&A) in Washington, D.C. This experience offers students the opportunity to learn how SIFMA formulates, analyses and supports public policy positions in the interests of its members.

Throughout the ten-week program, each intern will be assigned a mentor on the Associate team who will work with each intern on his/her specific portfolio of advocacy issues. When Congress is in session, interns will work alongside Associates to cover hearings and events, and write briefings that will be distributed externally to member firms. Additionally, each intern will research, prepare and present an advocacy issue of choice to the PP&A office at the end of the program, and for which they will receive authorship credits.
