About the Program

D&P Creative Strategies is seeking highly organized, motivated, and detail-oriented undergraduate and graduate students to join its government relations team in Washington, D.C. as part-time fellows. D&P is a hybrid government relations and advocacy firm that works with nonprofit and corporate clients on a myriad of issues. We increase our clients’ presence on Capitol Hill, help build coalitions to support initiatives and legislation, and ensure that our work benefits the broader community. As a certified minority and women-owned business, we take pride in working towards increasing the level of diversity in the government relations field. Our fellows can expect a high level of responsibility and mentorship. We are looking for candidates with a desire to learn and grow, flexible attitudes and skill sets, and composure under challenging circumstances. Alongside veteran members of the D&P team, fellows will be responsible for public policy and strategic communications work, including a variety of projects and policy issues that are relevant to our clients. They will also engage in frequent legislative monitoring, policy analysis, and content development

Requirements

Description
  • Pursuing a BA or graduate degree in business, law, political science, public policy, international relations, communications, or equivalent. 
  • Ability to commit between 15 to 30 hours per week. 
  • Previous internship or professional experience in policy, research, communications, or government preferred. 
  • Demonstrated interest in politics, public policy, or government relations. 
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills, especially over the phone. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Ability to think, plan, and execute resourcefully. 
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
