Are you concerned about the lack of opportunities available for many of today’s low-income students and students of color? Do you want to work with a team of top national experts dedicated to tackling America’s growing educational opportunity gap? If so, the College Board’s Public Policy Spring Internship will offer you the opportunity learn from and contribute to the College Board’s ongoing efforts to deliver the educational opportunities all students deserve.   

 

Driven by a single goal, the College Board seeks to ensure that every student has the opportunity to prepare for, enroll in, and graduate from college--particularly, low-income and underrepresented students, as well as students who are the first in their families with a chance to earn a postsecondary degree.

Requirements

Description
  • General knowledge of K-12 and/or higher education issues from a state or national level
  • Demonstrated experience in examining educational challenges faced by underrepresented students.
  • Applicant should fit into one of the following categories:
  • Currently enrolled (or accepted) in a master’s or doctoral-level program in public policy, education policy, or related discipline;
  • A 2014 graduate of an undergraduate program exploring public policy or education policy graduate programs;
  • Strong analytical and/or research skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A resume that includes G.P.A, major and expected graduation dates
  • A writing sample (1-2 pages) responding to the following question:  --

 Question: If you had an opportunity to brief the secretary of education or congressional staff on an important policy issue that would improve college readiness, college access and/or postsecondary success, what would it be and why? How has policy failed to address this issue in the past?
