About the Program

The Hans P. Loewen Scholarship is awarded to a graduating high-school senior, a college freshman or sophomore who has enrolled full-time, in college courses and is pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM). ANS will present one annual award of $2000. The scholarship is limited to U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are enrolled in an ABET accredited U.S. University. Applicants for the Hans Loewen scholarship must submit an essay describing his/her leadership qualities and in particular how he/she helps others meet their goals. Applicants must be ANS National Student Members unless they are incoming freshmen. Recipients must be ANS National Student Members prior to the final disbursement of funds. Incoming freshmen selected to receive the award must become ANS National Student Members once they begin their undergraduate studies and they must notify ANS Headquaters that they have joined the Society. Once Headquarters verifies these awardees have joined the Society, they will be sent the award funds.
