About the Program

JOB SUMMARY: Casey Trees, a nonprofit dedicated to restoring, enhancing and protecting the tree canopy of Washington, D.C., seeks a Communications & Events Intern to assist in all matters related to marketing and event planning. -Research and contact vendors -Manage event budget in CRM platform -Organize event details and manage guest lists -Draft copy for website, social media platforms and communication tools including magazine, blog and media releases -On-site event management -Other event duties as necessary -Provide general administrative support

POSITION DURATION AND COMPENSATION: Work schedule is 20 hours per week minimum. Interns are assigned a fixed regular schedule based on their available hours. Flexible scheduling is available but interns must be able to work shifts of four hours or more. Pay is $12 per hour. Preferred start date is 01/05/2015, and a semester commitment is required.

Description

QUALIFICATIONS: -Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree -Strong writing and verbal communication skills. -Demonstrated interest in Casey Trees' mission. -Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) skills. -Graphic design skills a plus. -Thoughtful, organized and extremely productive with great attention to detail and to presentation. -Excellent researcher capable of working independently as well as collaboratively. -Enthusiastic with a positive attitude and strong work ethic; good sense of humor appreciated. -Demonstrated interest in Casey Trees' mission. -Creative vision.
