About the Program |
Description The Education for Peace in Iraq Center (EPIC) is looking for a motivated intern for Spring 2015. The official start date is January 12th and the official end date is May 15th; however, if you are a student these dates can be negotiated to match your university’s schedule. While we prefer full-time interns, part-time interns may be accepted based on availability. As we work to implement our youth and peacebuilding initiatives in Iraq, our interns work closely with our Executive Director in Washington, D.C. to carry out and maintain the necessary advocacy, research, fundraising, and administrative frameworks for those projects. The Communications Intern will work to build a community of support for EPIC’s projects and advocacy work. The Communications Intern will be responsible for: Helping develop and execute a winning communications strategy, including the creation of dynamic and engaging written and multimedia content for EPIC’s website, blog, social media platforms, and email communications; Assisting with marketing and coordination for the EPIC campaign to promote a clear, long-term U.S. strategy for peace in Iraq; Growing EPIC’s base of support through effective outreach and communications; Researching the Administration’s policies towards Iraq and political and social developments on the ground in Iraq; Coordinating and promoting fundraising activities through online platforms to support our projects in the field; and Providing EPIC with general operational support – we can’t do the work we do in Iraq without making sure the filing is done in DC. This is a great opportunity to learn about the real impact that nonprofits can have. If you’re looking for a challenging internship where you’ll see the results of your work, EPIC is the place for you. How to apply Please send a resume or CV, a cover letter, and a writing sample to taif@epic-usa.org. Please include the title of the internship in the subject line. Preference will be given to recent grads and grad students, but undergrads are strongly encouraged to apply. |
