About the Program

The Association of Public Television Stations (APTS) is seeking a second or third year law student as a law clerk in its Legal department. Students interested in establishing a legal career in the telecommunications industry or in the Executive or Legislative Branches of Government are encouraged to apply. The Intern will assist in researching and drafting APTS comments to file in FCC proceedings and review and summarize comments filed by other parties in FCC proceedings. The Intern may also assist in the drafting of suggested statutory and committee report language and hearing questions. Additionally, the Intern will perform basic research projects on telecommunications issues i.e.: digital television and nonprofit access to telecommunications technologies, and respond to APTS members' inquiries by researching responses and drafting correspondence to member stations, as well as work on projects in other departments as needed. APTS is seeking someone with availability in the winter semester (January through March) for a minimum of 25 hours a week. Commuting costs will be reimbursed up to company limits. A bonus stipend is available based on work quality.
