About the Program

Working in the Health Insurance & Financing Section of the Domestic Social Policy Division, the intern will assist with one or both of the following projects: (1) A new CRS report that describes how the Affordable Care Act (ACA) affects health insurance coverage offered in the private health insurance market in terms of benefits, network adequacy, and costs. The intern will work with CRS analysts to research and write select sections of the report. (2) A new CRS report that provides a brief overview of the ACA health insurance exchanges. The report will be based on an existing CRS report on exchanges; the intern will determine the content of the shorter report and write the report with assistance from CRS analysts. Additionally, the intern will help CRS analysts respond to Congressional requests and participate in briefings and presentations as needed. Position requires: Strong writing skills, the ability to work independently, interest in health policy, and experience finding, reading and analyzing publications from academic journals, think tanks, and government agencies. Graduate or Ph.D. student preferred.
