About the Program

In an effort to reach out to the Latino community and increase youth leadership development, LCLAA hosts full and part-time, unpaid internships at their Washington, D.C. headquarters all year. Interns will have the opportunity to get involved in an organization that works to educate mobilize and advance the economic, social and political interests of Latino workers, their families and their communities.

Areas include: Communications, Policy & Advocacy and Environmental Research & Advocacy.

This unique internship helps to develop leadership skills in areas such as communications, organizing, and event planning and team management.

Requirements

Description

Qualifications:

  • Basic Computer skills, Knowledge of Microsoft office (MS Word, Excell, Powerpoint, etc).
  • Bilingual applicants in both Spanish and English are preferred although exceptions may be made for exceptional candidates.
  • Experience/Knowledge or familiarity with labor unions and non-profit work a big plus.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communications skills.
  • We look for respectful individuals that follow directions, demonstrate creativity, excellent work ethic, flexibility and initiative.
  • Knowledge of HTML language, Photoshop, and Adobe illustrator are desirable but not required (Communications Intern).
