About the Program
The purpose of the Gloria Mattera National Migrant Scholarship Fund is to assist financially those migrant youth who have the potential and the desire to further their education to achieve their personal and career goals. Eligible applicants must be entering or enrolled in college or other types of post-secondary programs, high school dropouts or potential dropouts.
The Scholarship fund gives migrant youth across the country a chance to make choices regarding their careers and futures through grants in the amount of up to $250.

Grant amounts are determined by the Screening Committee on the basis of background in migrant farm work, financial need, and potential of the youth. The Fund grants approximately 100 awards annually in the amount of up to $250.

Requirements

Description

Migrant youth who have the potential and the desire to further their education to achieve their personal and career goals. Recent history of movement for agricultural employment - priority will be given to currently interstate migrant youth. Have scholastic potential, financial need, enrolled in or accepted at an accredited public or private college, technical or vocational school, or a dropout or a potential dropout from high school who shows promise of ability to continue schooling.
