About the Program

The mission of the Truman Scholarship Foundation is to find and recognize college juniors with exceptional leadership potential who are committed to careers in government, the nonprofit or advocacy sectors, education or elsewhere in the public service. Truman Scholars receive up to $30,000 for graduate or professional school, participate in leadership development activities, and have special opportunities for internships and employment with the federal government.

Requirements

Description

Students must be nominated by their institution in a process conducted by the Truman Scholarship Faculty Representative.  The process may vary from institution to institution.  Please contact the Faculty Representative at your institution as soon as possible as several schools have early deadlines.

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.)
Academic Requirements

I would like to get a master's degree, a doctorate, or a professional degree such as a law degree or a Master of Public Administration, Master of Public Health, Master of Social Work, Master of Education, Master of Public Policy, or Master of International Affairs.
