About the Program

The Pursuit of Excellence scholarship program provides support for qualified financially needy students who are determined to attain a four year college degree. Scholarship recipients who maintain acceptable academic performance receive support during all their undergraduate years. Pursuit of Excellence scholarships are limited to specific high schools on the San Francisco Peninsula and in the Arlington, VA area.

Description

• Financial Need - Only financially needy students will be considered for this scholarship program. A typical recipient's family income does not exceed $50,000, although special circumstances can create exceptions to this guideline. Be sure to explain any special circumstances on your application.
• Graduating High School Senior - Must have graduated from one of the high schools targeted by Pursuit of Excellence
• Satisfactory Academic Standing - California State University (CSU) approved courses ( or equivalent for VA or MD)
• Acceptance to an accredited college or university (public or private) - Must have applied for college, although may not have a decision at the time of submitting an application. Applicants who plan to start at a community college and then transfer to a 4-year college are also qualified.
• Student Work - Preference is given to students who have worked during their high school years.
