About the Program

Education First offers its scholarship program in a select list of participating high schools in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver and Austin. We serve schools that have lower percentages of college applicants.

Description

Students are evaluated based on:

  • Depth of essay responses which show strength of character, commitment to learning and a vision for their future.
  • Financial need
  • Academic promise
  • We are not necessarily looking for the "straight A" student, but rather one who has the tools and motivation to be successful in college.
Open to residents of:
  • CA
  • CO
  • OR
  • TX
  • WA
Open to students attending school in:
National - All 50 States
Additional Geographic Requirements

The following cities and accompanying schools are eligible:

Austin: Eastside Memorial, Reagan, Travis

Denver: Jefferson, North Senior, West

Los Angeles: Garfield, Jefferson, Manual Arts

Portland: David Douglas, Madison, Roosevelt

San Francisco: Balboa, Mission, Thurgood Marshall

Seattle: Chief Sealth, Cleveland, Rainier Beach
