Our mission is designed to serve YOU and the San Francisco community:

  • Providing benefits to our members from the sole practitioner working in his or her living room, to the lawyer who works in a 100+ person firm, to the new attorney, to the more senior attorney, to the in-house lawyer
  • Providing award-winning pro bono and diversity educational programs, projects and volunteer opportunities to lawyers who want to give back through our Justice & Diversity Center
  • Offering leadership opportunities for thousands of San Francisco legal professionals
  • Striving for diversity in our legal profession to better reflect the community in which we live
  • Providing access to legal services to those who can’t afford them

The San Francisco legal community is a close knit one and we invite you to join other professionals like yourself who support, and engage, in our mission.

Current Opportunities for The Bar Association of San Francisco

Bay Area Minority Law Scholarship

Opportunity Type: Scholarship
Application Deadline: April 20, 2018
Description: We have been awarding scholarships to minority law students for seventeen years. We offer these scholarships because we are firmly committed to and recognize the importance of diversity within the legal practice, particularly in Northern California. The scholarships are need based and are given to those from minorities that are underrepresented in Northern California or Bay Area law schools. In addition to money, we provide mentoring and guidance to selected applicants. We believe that by offering scholarships to minority students who have been accepted into an accredited law school in Northern California, we are helping to ease a large barrier to success in law school — the financial barrier
