Congresswoman Norma J. Torres represents California's 35th congressional district which includes Bloomington, Chino, Fontana, Montclair, Ontario, Pomona, and Rialto. She previously served as a State Assembly Member and as a Mayor and Council Member in the City of Pomona. Throughout her career in elected office, Norma Torres has worked to make government more responsive to the needs of Inland Empire residents.

Description: Non-paid student internship opportunities are available for the summer of 2015 in the Office of U.S. Representative Norma Torres. Congresswoman Torres represents the 35th Congressional District, which includes the cities of Pomona, Chino, Ontario, Rialto, Bloomington, and Fontana. Internship positions are available in both our Capitol and District offices. Under House Administration rules, internships must serve an educational purpose and are typically filled by undergraduate, graduate or law school students.
Our summer programs offer flexible hours to easily coincide with a student’s school schedule. Duties vary widely and include, but are not limited to: working with legislative staff; drafting responses to constituent mail; monitoring hearings; conducting legislative research; working on press outreach and information gathering projects; giving capitol tours; processing mail; answering phones and other various staff support work.
