Mike Quigley was elected to Congress to represent Illinois’ 5th District on April 7, 2009. A former Cook County Commissioner who began his career serving as an aide to former 44th Ward Alderman Bernie Hansen, Mike has served his community for more than thirty years. His election to Congress was an opportunity to take his unique style of reform-minded politics, which Chicagoans have known for years, from Cook County to Washington.

Opportunity Type: Fellowship
Description: Congressman Mike Quigley (D-IL) is seeking an unpaid Legislative Fellow for his Washington, DC office for the 2015 Spring semester. Fellows will gain valuable experience in nearly every aspect of a Congressional office performing a variety of legislative, press, and administrative duties. The Legislative Fellow’s primary responsibility though will be in assisting legislative staff with legislative research and special projects.
Individuals with Chicago ties are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates should possess strong organizational and communication (written and oral) skills. Preference will be given to those who have a policy or legal background, have completed or are currently enrolled in a graduate studies program, can work full-time or near full-time, and can start as soon as possible.
