Social Media Internship

Opportunity Type: Internship
Description: The social media intern will assist the social media strategist in three main areas: analysis, research, and community management. Primary channels include Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. Responsibilities may include administrative support. Selection will be based on the candidate’s demonstrated social media acumen, familiarity with tech platforms, and interest in/involvement with subject matter. This is a volunteer internship. A $1,000/month stipend is offered to help offset expenses. Key Social Profiles Facebook Twitter Pinterest Duties Assist in tracking of social metrics, including compiling and analyzing historic data. Utilize data to develop recommendations on topics such as optimal post timing, headline testing, number of times to share each story, etc. Investigate emerging social channels for marketing potential. Work with field staff to surface and share content about National Treasures projects and other field work. Serve as a support desk as field staff become more used to using social. Contribute to community management and content-sharing planning.

Editorial Internship (Spring 2015)

Description: The Editorial intern will assist the Editorial team in writing, editing, researching, fact-checking, and publishing a wide variety of digital and print content. Outlets include the PreservationNation.org website, PreservationNation blog, and Preservation magazine. Responsibilities include administrative support. Selection will be based on the candidate’s demonstrated writing ability, familiarity with tech platforms, and interest in/involvement with subject matter. This is a volunteer internship.
