WHO WE ARE Because of the National Alliance for Hispanic Health’s 41 years of leadership, millions have gained access to health and mental health services, those with HIV/AIDS had an early and unrelenting champion, tobacco companies faced a community voice they could neither buy nor silence, and generations of Hispanic youth have achieved their dreams of careers in health and the sciences. Today, our values continue to guide us as we face new challenges on the horizon and create opportunities for all. INSPIRE We invest in dreams and believe in the power of community to change the world. The heritage of the Alliance consists of dreamers who responded when they saw neighbors not getting needed care, systems unable to speak their language, and doors of opportunities closed. They banded together and created community organizations and solutions to the challenges they faced. Today, Alliance community-based members are some of the nation’s leading providers of health and human services; represent the highest standards; and, deliver services to over 15 million persons every year. We are nurturing new leaders responding to needs in growing population centers throughout the country. We are working, neighbor to neighbor, to support healthier environments and inspire the dreams of our youth, our elders, and the collective visions of our communities for a stronger and healthier nation. We remain science-based and community-driven.
