The purpose of the Foundation is to develop and implement activities that exclusively support educational and leadership purposes for women. The three main elements of the purpose are: leadership, scholarship, and character.

Melissa Montoya Scholarship

Description: The Melissa Mon­toya Schol­ar­ship was estab­lished in 2013 to assist women with a pas­sion for teach­ing in ele­men­tary and sec­ondary edu­ca­tion. The schol­ar­ship is named in honor of Melissa Mon­toya, a Founder of Kappa Delta Chi Soror­ity, Inc. Melissa has been edu­cat­ing chil­dren in spe­cial edu­ca­tion and kinder­garten for over 16 years. The schol­ar­ship is avail­able on a com­pet­i­tive basis and is a one-time award. 

Educational Foundation for Women High School Scholarship

Description: The Nel­lie Flo­res Ledesma Schol­ar­ship was estab­lished in 2013 to assist women pur­su­ing a master’s degree. The schol­ar­ship is named in honor of Nel­lie Flo­res Ledesma, a Founder of Kappa Delta Chi Soror­ity, Inc. Nel­lie earned her account­ing degree from Texas Tech Uni­ver­sity and has worked in the account­ing and audit­ing fields for over 22 years. The schol­ar­ship is avail­able on a com­pet­i­tive basis and is a one-time award.

Irene Montoya Robinson Scholarship

Application Deadline: April 04, 2024
Description: This scholarship is for community college students transferring to four-year higher educational institutions wishing to pursue bachelor's degrees. Academic qualifications are 3.0 GPA and community service requirement is 100 hours at 1-3 organizations.
