One of the primary goals of the Association has been to provide funds for student scholarships through donations and fundraising events. It is the intent that this money be made available to students on the basis of both scholarship and financial need. The Elmira Sanderson Endowed Scholarship of $1,500 will be awarded to graduating high school seniors currently attending a San Francisco public high school, who come from an educationally or environmentally disadvantaged background, and who plan to enroll full-time as a freshman (12 units) at San Francisco State University for the 2014-2015 academic year.
